So here are some of Doug's birthday pictures. There's quiet a few but it's so rare that Doug will look at the camera (or in the general direction of the camera) and smile all a the same time that I couldn't control myself. Why the baseball? He's not really a fan, but we had them in the yard, and they made him happy-ish, and he is a boy after all. Plus he thinks that any sport involving a ball is 'baseball" including (but not limited to) golf and soccer.

Natty Pants

The other day Natalie was really putting on a show for the camera and I thought the pictures turned out pretty cute. Usually my kids hate having their pictures taken, but maybe she saw her reflection in a spoon and thought "hmm...I am incredibly incredibly good looking....I wonder if I could do that for a career." Hope she does it again sometime.

Fungus Fun Time

A riddle: What did the girl say about her date with a mushroom? It was nice he's a real fungi.....hahaha Thank you Jokes and Riddles For Kids. Anyway I saw this beauty when we were out riding horses so I came back to take pictures. enjoy.

Okay, so truth be told, nobody asked, but deep down in her sub-conscience, Sydney really wanted me take these pictures for her and also I was bored. So anyway Syd here are some ideas for you class. I don't know if your camera's auto settings will allow you to change the focus or get up super close to small objects, but you can try some cropping...Anyway hope these pictures spark your creativity, but if not at least take the last 2 as a warning to always watch where you're walking.













Yeah, I stepped on this bird's carcass and yes it was not only gross but also very creepy - in the creepiest part of the ranch , down the red gate past the next gate in the draw along Dead Man's Creek and I was by myself and it was near sunset and I didn't know what kind of bird it was - just that it was stretched out to measure about 4 feet in length...anyway later Greg identified it as a turkey which took anyway the creepy factor but did nothing for the horrid smell that was burned into my memory. Seriously I'm getting sick just looking at the picture.

2nd Birthday

Because you only turn 3 once and (as you can tell by the picture) Doug likes to party, he had 2 birthday parties this year. The second was really a valentines day/february birthdays party, but he's the only kid in the family with a february birthday so the cake is always in his theme and the decorations were already up. I thought "Thomas" was on the down-trend but since the party he eats, breathes, and lives Thomas almost exclusively. Looks like Thomas is here to stay.

Birthday Party

Doug had his first birthday party with other kids this year. It went off really well because they all liked the cake and no one got bit. Really what more could you ask for?
