Spring Engagements

Almost made you think this post would be all about the fun stuff we're doing this spring but you should know by now we don't do fun stuff.  These are just some pictures from an engagement session I shot earlier this month.  I'm particularly pleased because while editing I learned a few new tricks.  So what do you think?  Oh and a helpful hint free of charge: if people in the picture are sitting on the ground one of the legs should always be up, bent at the knee otherwise it just looks weird.

Warning: May Cause Baby Hunger

This cute little guys mom very graciously agreed to let him be a guinea pig for my gain.  It was super good practice because the only newborn pictures I ever get to do are my own kiddies.  I think we got a few good shots but this poor little guy has acid reflux just like my babies and was so miserable that we had to cut it short.  Anyway I learned that I could really use some baby props like little hats and diaper covers and a little cradle would be nice too.  Maybe one for Natalie's dolls.  Hopefully this little guy will start feeling better and we'll get some super cutie cute pictures in his blessing outfit in a few months.  The last picture is kind of funny but I like it because it reminds me of a turtle.

Birthday Party

 

Because Lois and Doug have birthdays that are so close together they had a party at the ranch.  All the kids got presents, even the little sisters.  All the kids had a super time and one comment was made: this is just like Christmas.  Lois and Doug got a bunch of stuff and had a super time eating cake and playing musical statues.

Doug's cowboy gear Grandma & Grandpa gave him.  Lois got a shot gun too but wasn't quite sure what to do with it.  My favorite quote of the evening: While handing Lois her gun, "come on Princess - let's go!"

Doug also got a detective kit from Grandma complete with map, a notepad, pencil, and a magnifying glass.   What a super fun time all the kids have.  I didn't take a picture of it but the little girls got barbie dolls and about died from delight.

 

 

 

Some Kids Are Just Born With It

 

My little niece - now there's a girl who was born to have her picture taken.  Guess she's not anything like her girl cousins and nothing like Doug.  It's so fun to take pictures of a kid that enjoys it this much.  In other news, I finally found the perfect umbrella and hope to get a lot more use out of it.
