Splash Park

We went to the splash park today and the kids had a super time.  Personally I would have preferred a private pool to sitting in the sun while the kids ran through the water, but at least there were shaded tables.  We probably would have stayed all day but the Boys and Girls Club showed up with what seemed like about 100 kids - big kids like 3rd and 4th graders....anyway we left.  

Travis & Karlinda Ranch Engagements

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the Lyman Alder Grove Ranch is the best location to take pictures ever.  Special thanks to the Pres. for holding the shade/reflector for me and to Karen and Travis for agreeing to kiss in a few of the shots even though I'm a sister in law and maybe that made them feel awkward.

It's finally here - the post everyone's been holding their breath for, and when I say everyone, I really mean Sydney.  For their engagements, Karen wanted to create a photo strip much like you would receive from a old time photo booth.  This is the first time I've ever shot engagement pictures with a studio setup and I could have really used some back-lights (hint hint Greg).  Needless to say it was worlds different from the out door engagements I'm used to doing but lots of fun none the less especially when Doug got into the action in front of the camera as well as behind.  He's turning into quite the artist.  Too bad all male photographers are gay.  You know it's true.  Okay I admit there might be one or two out there that are not.

Take Two

 A seemingly perfect day for taking some new birthday pictures of Doug...comfortable temperature, great cloud cover, beautiful location - just one problem.  Doug hates having his picture taken.  After an hour of bribing, threatening, and yes, even begging, we finally got a few good shots.  Unfortunately the verdict is in and I hate the way they look.  Maybe if he had played the "cowboy character" a little more.  Anyway these will not be displayed on my walls and he is definitely out of the running for America's Next Top Model.  In other news the Thompson boys might just haves what it takes to win that kind of competition....
