JimmyJam 7 months

JimmyJam is now 7 months old.  I wasn't entirely happy with his 6 month pictures (mostly because he was crying in almost all of them).  Add that to the new camera that needs to be used and this is what you get.  I am loving this new camera that Greg bought me for mother's day.  (I saved up about half the cost and was planning of buying it when I saved up the rest.)  Who would have thought that the difference would be so huge?  Not me.  I suppose you probably can't see a huge difference, but trust me-it's there.  Is it worth the cost?  well...yes.  I think so.  Also in case you were wondering when my boy got so much cuter just know he didn't.  It's the new camera.

 

Jimmy-jam 6months

So Jimmy is actually 7 months old now I'm just a little behind at posting these....If you're wondering what this cute baby is thinking I'll tell you right now: "I HATE GRASS!"  If you don't believe me, just scroll down.  I know it looks like I just let him cry and took a bunch a pictures.  Not true (even though it is true that I think pictures of crying babies are super cute).  There was actually several breaks that lasted for an hour or more in between.  All is not lost though; he is rapidly overcoming his hatred of grass.  Why just this afternoon he crawled all the way across the yard to get a snack of delicious mud.  Looks like I might have another baby with iron deficiency, so that will be 4 for 4.

  All we had to do was get him out of the grass to get a smile...

What can I say?  I love these pictures, but now that I have a fancy new camera with better sensors and technology I can't wait to try again...good thing she likes to model for pictures. 

 

 

Total Eclipse of the Heart

So today was the total solar eclipse.  I think the last time this happened it was only a partial eclipse here....anyway we didn't make plans to watch or anything but fortunately Greg has a welding mask and Travis (his brother) reminded us only a few minutes ahead of time.  So we grabbed the mask and headed outside where many of our neighbors were congregated.  I probably would have skipped the pictures, but so many wanted them and tried to get a few with their iphones. Turns out that doesn't work great.  Fortunately for us someone also had a canon extender lens so these are all taken through a dirty welding mask at 600x magnification.  I wish you could see the clouds in the sky but I don't have that kind of equipment and really it would only get used like twice a decade.  The last is taken through a different welding mask, hence the green color.  I think it looks pretty cool.
