Wedding Pictures

There are only a handful of people I have met in my life that actually fit the description of "cute."  This bride is the embodiment of it.  When she told me her wedding was in the gym of the church, at night I thought, well hot dang, none of your pictures will turn out.  Fortunately I was wrong.  In fact I think some of them might be among my best work.  "toot, toot"  (that's me, tooting my own horn because let's face it, someone has too.)  I had hoped to get a few shots outdoors but it was not only freezing out but also raining off and on that day.  Speaking of which, can anyone tell why rain on your wedding day is ironic?  I've often wondered.   Okay, not often just whenever I hear a certain stupid song from the mid 90s.

This one is perhaps my favorite shot.  Can I just say that I love the portrait lens for so many reasons....if only it could zoom....and just think for a mere $1,000 I could get one....

The bride belongs to a dance company that treated us to a flash mob.  Best performance at any wedding I've ever been to.  Usually it's only mildly entertaining and fun for the immediate family, but these guys were good. Or maybe I'm just biased because they danced to Michael Jackson's "Bad"

A special thanks to pinterest for all the scrabble idea.  I only pretend to be creative and "with it."

...and Senior Portraits

Another kind of senior portraits.  As a side note, if you ever have the chance to shoot senior citizens having some little kids along really makes it easy to get some great smiles.  It was a little tricky to fit this session in during the crazy month of December, but I'm really glad that it worked out.  This trooper, Linda, has cancer and for all she wanted for Christmas this year was pictures of her and her husband.  I know that my family really treasures the pictures of our Grandparents, especially now that they are gone.  I really like the one on the park bench where they are looking at each other, perhaps a little mushy for my taste, but hey I've shot a lot of weddings/engagements in the last few years...

This shot was an out-take and I just really like it. Probably because those are my kids.  I guess I'm a little biased.

Senior Portraits...

The old senior portrait...funny how so many girls have them done and so few boys...at least I almost never see any of the boy's pictures.  Anyway I thought this shoot was really fun and that Jared totally rocked the light bounce.  As you can see there are a few "traditional" shots, but I spent most of the time trying for some more masculine looks.  I get really tired of looking at pictures of teenage boys posed like girls because let's face it, that's totally gay.  In case you're wondering about the green grass, yes this shoot was done in November.  It's been a super mild winter which is nice for now but I'm sure that means we'll have snow until mid June and the ski resorts will be open until the 4th of July, which would be great if I liked that sort of thing.

Planking

Recently I was informed that this "is not planking - it's really more supermanning"  as if I knew or cared what the difference was.  Our next family past time hardcore parkuor and for those of you have met my little girl you'll know that she may not be much of a planker, but hardcore parkour will be her time to shine.

DISCLAIMER:  Yes, I do realize that since I got pregnant and gained tons of weight that I am fat.  However this picture could not be less flattering and no I don't really resemble Jabba the Hut.  Well then, why would I post this you ask?  Take a closer look at that baby and then ask yourself if it's not the most awesome thing you've ever seen a baby do...sometime in the near future I'll have to post some pictures that I am and redeem myself.
